Is your dishwasher starting to have a weird smell when opening it? Here's a few tips to get that frunk OUT!
A lot of times the smell from your dishwasher can be caused by excess food getting trapped in the filter or mildew being built up by not letting your dishwasher dry out completely.
First you'll wanna clean out your dishwasher's filter. It varies from brand and model for the dishwasher you might have. Linked here is a simple video on how to get everything cleaned out. Be sure to really clear off any solids off of your dishes before you start your dishwasher to prevent anything from getting trapped in the filter. Remove the filter and bring it to the sink. Run hot water through it and scrub it with cleaner and a small brush. Once you have it all clean, place it back in the dishwasher.
For a little more cleaning try this white vinegar and baking soda hack! Take 1 cup of white vinegar and pour it into the bottom of your dishwasher. Then run your dishwasher on the hottest setting for a full cycle. Once that is done, do the same thing, but this time pour 1 cup of baking soda around the bottom of the machine. The baking soda and vinegar will help with sanitizing and deodorizing the washer, eliminating any funky smell!
