Do you find yourself suddenly sitting in the dark? Chances are, you have too many things plugged in. Your circuit breaker probably flipped off to prevent fire or electrical damage. Here’s what to do next!
Turn off everything plugged into an outlet.
Locate your electric panel. Think “big grey box,” It will look something like this:
Open the box, and look for the odd switch out. All of the switches should be pointing the same way. The switch that stands out, and is facing towards “Off” or in between “On” and “Off” is the one you want to work with. Flip this switch On, Off and then On again to fully reset it.
Plug back in one item and turn it on to test it.
Make sure not to plug back in too many items into one electrical port.
